Day 4 - Eberbach to Wolframs-Eschenbach

Day 4, same as Day 3. It hasn't stopped raining since we left Kedange-sur-Canner, so today we have had another 8.5 hours in the pissing rain. And were are not just talking light drizzle here, this has been full on torrential rain. Waterproof socks have proved not to be, so that's is unpleasant to say the least. New waterproof trousers though, are keeping the boys nice and dry! Boots are soaked, gloves too. There is no hiding place, so we just suffer the onslaught. Today has been colder too, no more than 13 degrees. This is feckin July for christ's sake. 13 feckin degrees!  You'll gather I am less than happy with the situation.

Memorable moments from today. Having to avoid the ducks in the road, I kid you not, it has been that wet and the visit to Rothenberg, a really beautiful medieval town, least it probably is, in the sunshine. There we were accosted by some Japanese/Chinese and forced to be in their photos and take photos of them and paid a visit to the Christmas shop. We also paid a visit to Mosbach, earlier in the day, another medieval town, though it's not as good as Rothenberg and certainly not so good walking around in full wet gear, with your crash helmet on!

Rothenberg Town Square, no child catcher though.
Wolframs-Eschenbach is also a small walled medieval town, so having scrubbed and warmed up, we took a walk round, before hitting the one and only eating place (apparently) in town.
Tomorrow we have 120, hopefully dry miles to ride into Munich, with a stop at the Dachau concentration camp site. Evening will be a visit to the Hofbrauhaus, for sausage and a stein or two. We are up to 12 beers at the moment but Grizzly doesn't want his mates to know that. I think they normally do that in one night, not four! Oh well, cat's out of the bag now ;-)

Until the next time.
